Eagles win Tenroc Meet

Salado varsity cross country teams swept their own meet Sept. 14, winning the Tenroc Invitational in both divisions.

Salado varsity Eagles cross country team won its division in the Tenroc Invitational meet held here on Sept. 14, scoring 42 points. Crawford was second place with 64 points and McGregor was third with 73 points.

 

Daniel Thoreson took second place overall to lead Salado with his time of 18:27 over the three-mile course.

Preston Kimbrough followed in third place with a time of 18:30.

Also scoring for Salado wer Austyn Giacomozzi, 11th place, 20:13; Peyton Kyburz, 12th place, 20:23;  Denny Barker, 14th place, 20:46.

Also running for the varsity squad were these:         Luke Markham, 18th, 20:53 and Ty Sebesta, 37th, 22:21.

 

Girls Varsity

Salado Lady Eagles won their own cross country meet Sept. 14 in a field of four teams and 44 runners. The girls scored 30 points, followed by McGreger, 44, Crawford, 54 and Franklin, 110.

Ashley Adams led the girls, placing third overall, with a time of 13:31.  Katie Kendall followed in fourth place, running a 14:07.

Scoring for Salado were Katy Ewton, fifth place, 14:14, Cassidy Brown, eighth place, 14:32 and China Saxton, 10th place, 15:00.

Also running were Arianna Rangel, 18th place, 15:09 and Annie Ewton, 21st place, 15:29.

Junior Varsity

Britton Raven ran alone for Salado in the Junior Varsity division, 20th overall with a time of 24:37.6.

Four Junior Varsity girls ran in the Tenroc Invitational, not enough to field a complete team. Their times and placement were these: Jessica Ringstaff, eighth place, 16:50; Madeline Murray, ninth place, 17:03; Emily Patrick, 17th, 17:45 and Julie Beth Craig, 20th place, 18:04.

Junior High Boys

Salado Junior High boys took third place in the Tenroc Invitation cross country meet Sept. 14 behind Liberty Hill and McGregor.

Brandon Rodriguez was third place overall for Salado with a time of 13:07 over the two mile course. 

Manuel Magadan was 16th place with a time of 14:23, followed by Wade Woods in 18th place with a 145:28. Also scoring for Salado were Brian Ross, 28th place, 14:56 and Moses Perez, 36th place, 15:25.

Also running for the junior high boys were Cutter Hudgens, 41st, 15:26 and Chase Harwell, 43rd, 15:33.

Junior High Girls

In a field of 10 teams, Salado junior high girls were eighth place in the Tenroc Invitational cross country meet.

Running for SJH were these girls: Reginia Deen, 15:32, 13th place; Candace Brown, 17:18, 32nd place; Haley Howton, 18:36, 45th place; Perl Perez, 18:45, 47th place; Beth Flynn, 20:00, 57th place.
