Empty Bowl Project is Saturday

Annual lunch features soups from Salado restaurants, B&Bs and handmade bowls to add to your collection

Tickets are only available at the door  for the annual Salado Empty Bowl Project 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Salado Civic Center.

For just $20, you can purchase a handmade bowl by area potters, fill it with soup provided by area restaurants and help support the Salado Family Relief Fund. You can have all-you-can-eat soup for just $10 per person.

Christmas Stroll Tour of Homes

Historical chapel, beautiful homes part of Christmas Stroll event

The 2014 Salado Historical Society Christmas Tour of Homes will feature seven sites, December 5-7. The tour is comprised of a variety of uniquely decorated establishments ranging from historical to modern. The highlights of this year’s tour include a quaint historical church and Salado’s rustic log cabins.

They have recorded 15 #1 hits on the US country and pop music charts including  “Let Your Love Flow,” “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me),” “Redneck Girl,” and “Old Hippie.” They perform more than 150 dates per year.

Creative way to approach Easter season

If you are looking for some creative fun for the Easter season, join Salado Wine Seller, 841 N. Main St. in Salado, for Ostrich Egg Painting on April 13. There will be a 2-4 p.m. session and a 4-6 p.m. session. Paint, dye, and embellish your ostrich egg while you sip some locally made wine.  The Salado Wine Seller will provide the egg, a glass of wine, decorating materials and instructions.  Hop on down and enjoy this festive way to prepare for Easter! Tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased online.
