Christmas in October is just around the corner and Tommye Prater says this year has all the makings of a hit. The event will be held in the Conference Center of the historic Stagecoach Inn Friday, October 11th and Saturday, October 12th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
All of the booth spaces rented including the expanded area around the pool. This annual event is always popular with local citizens and visitors alike. It gives local artisans and shop keepers an opportunity to display their new wares and gives the shopper a head start on Christmas shopping. On display will be a wide array of treasures including Christmas decorations, jewelry, clothing, gifts, specialty foods and home decor items.
Throughout the late morning and early afternoon, fashions by Salado boutiques will be featured as models stroll through the area so that all can get a close look at the beautiful fall fashions. The Community Chorus will perform Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.
The Ladies Auxiliary’s famous Bake Sale will be in the lobby of the Stagecoach Inn and will include such homemade baked items as pies, cakes, cookies, fudge, brownies. Fresh pecans will be for sale as well. Bakers are requested to drop off their donated items Thursday, October 10; Friday, October 11 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.; or Saturday morning, October 12th.
The Village trolley will be available to transport visitors from several parking areas near the Stagecoach Inn. Signs will be posted along Main Street for parking and trolley stops.
Christmas in October is the annual fundraiser of the Salado Chamber of Commerce Ladies’ Auxiliary. Money earned is given back to such organizations as the Fire Department, the Humane Society, the Salado Family Relief Fund, the Community Chorus, and to the school in the form of scholarships for students attending college or technical school.
